Many of you by now will have heard the saddening news of the death of Mrs Betty Flavell last week, a short time before her 97th Birthday. Betty was the President of The City and very proud of that fact, being a long standing Committee Member and a supporter of the sport for many a long year and held legendary status for her Pomeranians with her late husband Bob Flavell.
Betty was one of the great characters in the dog game, being a dedicated breeder and fearless judge both at home and overseas.
Betty did not suffer fools gladly, ever ready to pass an honest opinion, sometimes not quite what the recipient expected but given in all truth.
Betty cared passionately about The City, scanning carefully the proposed judging panels and insisting that we should only have “The best Judges”
Always a stickler for fair play and had a wicked sense of humour.
As far as we are aware Betty left no near family, but a host of very good friends who have been ready to support her during the last few years of her life, which at times were not comfortable for her.
We will all miss you Betty and you will be fondly remembered.
At the time of writing The Funeral is planned for Monday 24th October, at Flintshire Memorial Park and Crematorium, Oakholt Lane, Northop, Mold. CH7 6DF
